(Chicago, IL) — The 2026 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday is saving Illinois families millions of dollars. Governor Pritzker announced that the holiday provided more than 11-million-dollars in savings for families in the state. That exceeds the 10-million-dollar savings estimate. The tax holiday took place in August, reducing the state sales tax rate on clothing, footwear and school supplies.
