(Chicago, IL) — State leaders are touting this year’s high enrollment at Illinois Public Universities. Officials announced that more than 190-thousand students enrolled at public universities in the state during the fall semester of the 2026-27 academic year. That is the highest level since 2015. Total enrollment at Illinois public universities also increased for a third consecutive year.
