(Springfield, IL) — Two drivers are cited following separate crashes involving two Illinois State Police squad cars. State police say a Mazda hit a trooper’s vehicle on Thursday night on I-55 near Sherman. A trooper in the vehicle was sent to the hospital as a precaution, while the driver of the Mazda, Tiffany Sipes of Williamsville, was issued citations for Scott’s Law and DUI. The second incident happened on Friday when a Land Rover hit a trooper’s squad car on I-70 in Edgar County. The driver of the Land Rover, Amanda Thomas, was issued multiple citations, including DUI.
