If you thought our overall stretch of seeing 90 degree temperatures was especially long this year, you are right.
Wednesday’s forecast high here was 88—but some spots got above 90 for the day, the final day of September.
The National Weather Service in St. Louis confirmed that it’s been a long 90-degree season this year. They say we first hit 90 back on March 22nd, which was the second earliest on record. And, after areas hit 90 degrees yesterday–September 30th–that marks 191 days (and potentially counting) between first and last 90 degree day. That is the most on record. The previous record was 189 days from April 23rd to October 30th back in 1950.
