It’s been just about a week now since gas prices shot up all around the area. At this time, Vandalia is in line or just a bit cheaper than neighboring communities—other than Effingham.
According to www.gasbuddy.com, Vandalia gas prices this morning range from $4.39 per gallon to $4.47 per gallon.
As for neighboring communities, Greenville prices were at $4.39 per gallon, Pana ranged from $4.47 to $4.59, Salem was in a range from $4.45 to $4.47. Effingham, as always, is the low outlier, with prices ranging from $4.18 to $4.22 per gallon there.
As for the cheapest price for gas in Illinois, it is in Calumet City at $3.75 per gallon. The cheapest price anywhere close to us is $3.80 per gallon in Maroa.
