The Fayette County Board on Thursday night approved the appointment of current Fayette County Assistant States Attorney Jessica Carr-Martin to succeed Brenda Mathis as States Attorney beginning December 3 when Mathis’ resignation goes into effect due to her being elected as Circuit Judge. Carr-Martin has served in Fayette County for five years and says she is excited to continue to serve the county.
Carr-Martin has spent her law career working as a prosecutor and becoming a part of the Fayette County community means a lot to her as she focuses on keeping the area safe.
While serving in the Fayette County States Attorney’s Office the last five years, there has already much to adapt to with changes in the law and we’ll talk with Carr-Martin about that Monday on Newscenter.
