
We have one more hot today today before showers and storms will move in and leave behind some cooler temperatures.
For today we will start off with mostly sunny skies and a high of 92. We do have a chance of showers and storms beginning late this afternoon. Then, showers and storms are likely for tonight with a low of 70. Showers and storms will stay with us on Thursday with a high of just 80.
Meanwhile, we could be looking at heavy rainfall moving through the area over the next 24 hours. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says a slow-moving cold front will arrive late today, but not before many see one last day of very warm to hot weather. Showers and thunderstorms become more likely through the afternoon, threatening localized damaging wind. Overnight, storms become more numerous and will threaten heavy rain. As of current mapping, we could potentially be in an area of 2 to 4 inches of rain from the system.
