
Connie Frailey, 83, of Shobonier, IL, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 26, 1943, in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of Edgar and Louise (Bishop) Nelson. She married Charles Frailey on July 1, 1960, in Bartonville, IL, and he survives her in Shobonier.
Along with her husband of sixty-six years, Connie is survived by her children, Kimberly Frailey and Carl Isaccson of Centralia, IL Wanda Denise Hensley and husband, Duane of Evans, GA, Galen Frailey and wife Marsha of Shobonier, IL; grandchildren, Jennifer Pittman and husband Daniel of GA, Erica Cox and husband Robert of GA, Adam Jansen and wife Jillian, of GA, Grace Jansen of GA, Scott Street and wife Brooke of Chicago, IL, Christina Street of AL, Lucas Frailey of Shobonier, IL, Zachary Eller of Newton, IL, Shawna Coney of Litchfield, IL, Chelsi Cox and husband Brandon of Vandalia, IL; fifteen great-grandchildren; brother, David Nelson of Peoria, IL; sister, Kathleen Darche Elger of Hanna City, IL; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Charles Robert Frailey; and her grandson, Nathan Street.
Connie was a member of Crown Point Church in rural Vandalia. She brought energy and compassion to her job as an activity director for Fayette County Hospital. Connie loved to sew and quilt, using her talent to share beautiful pieces she handmade with family and friends. The love of her family brought her great joy, and she felt blessed to have them in her life. Connie will be deeply missed, but wonderful memories of her will forever be a comfort and a treasure to her family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Farmers Cemetery in rural Shobonier with Pastor Pete LeDuc officiating.
