(Decatur, IL) — An Illinois appellate court is vacating the conviction for a Decatur man found guilty on child pornography charges. Doug Nichols and his wife, Kelly, were convicted of possessing child pornography. The court ruled that the images and videos used as evidence in the case against the Nichols aren’t considered child pornography under state law. His wife previously had her conviction overturned. Doug Nichols is still facing separate charges of criminal sexual assault of a minor and aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a minor.
