Mark Mabry, 64, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026.
Mark Holben Mabry was born on November 23, 1961, in Vandalia, Illinois, to Larry Dean and Linda Lou (Sanders) Mabry. Mark was baptized at the First Christian Church in Vandalia. He was a 1979 graduate of Vandalia Community High School. Mark and his parents owned and operated TraveLodge and Jay’s Inn.
Mark was a talented guitarist and played in several bands in his younger years. He held a deep love and appreciation for music. He looked forward to getting out with his friends on Wednesdays. Mark enjoyed life. He was kind and generous and deeply loved by his family and friends. Mark was a member of Masonic Temperance Lodge and AINAD Shriners.
Mark will be sorely missed by his immediate family; Susan, Jordan, Macye, his beloved granddaughter, Mabry Kate; his sister, Jody (Larry) Goldsboro; brother-in-law, Joe Pruett; nephews, Cody (Kayci) Goldsboro, Cory (Amanda) Goldsboro, Adam (Diana) Pruett; niece, Heidi (Kris) Dahl; great nieces and nephews, Koen, Kalli, Rhyan, Hadlee, Camden, Tucker, and Marco; aunt, Sonie (Ron) Pfulm; and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Linda Mabry; sister, Tanna Pruett; and grandparents, Harry Holben and Avis Mabry, and Marvin and Thelma Sanders.
Per Mark’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded. A visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, September 06, 2026 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home.
