(LaSalle Co., IL) — An investigation continues into the 1992 kidnapping and murder of Tammy Zywicki. Yesterday marked the 34th anniversary of her disappearance. Illinois State Police and FBI are exploring new leads, examining two-hundred pieces of evidence, and retesting items with modern DNA technology. Zywicki was reportedly last seen in her car on I-80 in LaSalle County in August 1992. She had left Evanston for college in Grinnell, Iowa, however her vehicle was found abandoned and she didn’t arrive at school. She was later found stabbed to death on September 1st along I-44 in rural Lawrence County, Missouri.
