It has now been a week since the City of Vandalia learned they had received the second phase of the Site Readiness Grant from the State of Illinois. The City of Vandalia has now been awarded better than $5.3 million in grants that will be used to make the city’s property at the west interchange ready for development.
Speaking on our podcast “Talking about Vandalia,” Mayor Doug Knebel says–once this is completed–it will give the city a big leg up on bringing in new businesses and industry.
And, as he mentioned, the City of Vandalia will be flexible to allow a potential developer to use as much, or as little, land as they would need of the City’s 120 acres. Mayor Knebel also had some folks he wanted to thank for helping make this happen and talks a little about the process of getting the grant.
