The City of Vandalia has now received better than $5.3 million in grant money over 2 phases for Site Readiness at the West Interchange property owned by the City of Vandalia.
Vandalia Mayor Doug Knebel and City Administrator LaTisha Paslay were part of our “Talking About Vandalia” podcast this week to further discuss getting the 2nd phase of the grant that was awarded to the City just this past Thursday.
First off, you’ll see many folks make comments such as “the city should use that money for other things.” But, Paslay clears that up—you cannot use grant money in that way.
She also adds that it often takes a long time to get in the grant money. And, that will look to be the same situation with the Site Readiness Grants.
And, Vandalia Mayor Doug Knebel talks about the work that will be going on at the City’s 120 acres at the City’s West Interchange.
In total, there is $5.3 million in grant money and the City of Vandalia will provide a 25% match on both grants. We will hear more on the grant coming up tomorrow. Also, you can check out our full podcast at www.vandaliaradio.com and under the Podcast Tab.
