(Chicago, IL) — Governor Pritzker is demanding answers from Big Oil. The governor sent letters to the chief executives of the nation’s largest oil companies, asking why Illinois families are paying high gas prices while the companies report record profits due to President Trump’s Iran war. Pritzker wants to know if any of the companies are prepared to return any portion of their wartime windfall to consumers in Illinois. The governor says, since the beginning of the war, the price of regular gasoline in Illinois has risen by more than one-dollar-and-30-cents per gallon.
