Backpack 2 School is ready for their one night event.
The program which provides a new backpack to all students in attendance will be held today from 4 pm to 6 pm at First United Methodist Church Family Center at 4th and Main Streets in Vandalia. Along with free backpacks, free haircuts will also be available and there will also be several activities.
Tools for School will have their first of 4 days operating today. Tools for School is at St. James Lutheran Church in Vandalia and will be open from 4 pm to 7 pm today, 10 am to 5 pm tomorrow, 10 am to 5 pm on Friday and 9 am to 11 am on Saturday. Tools for School provides school children with their basic school supplies to start off the school year.
