Gov Pritzker Encourages Illinoisans to Participate in Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday

(Palatine, IL) — Governor Pritzker is encouraging Illinoisans to participate in the Back-to-School State Tax Holiday. Pritzker says the tax holiday waives the state sales tax on back-to-school necessities from August 7th through the 16th. Officials say this 10-day period is expected to provide an estimated 10-million-dollars in savings to online and in-store consumers on essential back-to-school items, including clothing, footwear and school supplies.
