(Chicago, IL) — The state is launching a new program to help Illinoisans who lost their SNAP benefits. Governor Pritzker announced that the individuals will receive a one-time 400-dollar benefit per eligible household member through the new FRESH program. Around 100-thousand Illinoisans will receive the one-time benefit beginning tomorrow. The Illinois Department of Human Services will provide funding each month to additional individuals who lose coverage until funding is exhausted.
