An Ohio woman was killed in a single semi-tractor trailer accident on Friday evening near St. Elmo. In a report from the Fayette County Coroner’s Office, they say their office was called to the scene of the accident on Friday evening. The report says the semi-tractor trailer left the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 at the overpass by the railroad tracks, overturned and came to rest on the driver’s side. Fayette County Coroner David Harris says in the report that 49 year old Olha Dykhtiar of Ohio was the operator of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The report say an autopsy will be held on Monday in Springfield. The accident is being investigated by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office and the Illinois State Police. Also on the scene were the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, St. Elmo Police Department and also Fire Departments from nearby communities. No other information is being released at this time.
