We are looking at a couple of more hot and humid days before we get some relief around the area.
We will see mostly sunny skies today with a high of 90. Then, partly cloudy skies tonight with a low of 74. A chance of showers and storms comes into the forecast Tuesday morning and we’ll see a high of 91 with index values as high as 101 on Tuesday.
Beginning on Wednesday, temperatures will be in the upper 70’s to lower 80’s for the remainder of the work week.
The National Weather Service in St. Louis says the hot and humid conditions will continue through Tuesday with much of the area seeing heat index readings climbing above 100 degrees today and southeast Missouri and southwest Illinois climbing above this mark again on Tuesday. There is a low risk late tonight for isolated severe storms over parts of northeast Missouri and west central Illinois.
Also, we will see patch smoke around the area again today due to the wild fires in Canada.
