(Nokomis, IL) — The police department in the city of Nokomis is sticking around for now. The City Council voted last night to keep the department open. The decision comes after Nokomis Police Chief Earin Land resigned earlier this month. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies will help provide any necessary services in the city.
