The Illinois State Police is investigating a double homicide in Olney.
In a news release from the Illinois State Police, it states the Olney Police Department and Richland County Sheriff’s Office requested the Illinois State Police investigate two homicides in Olney.
On Tuesday at about 3:11 pm, officers responded to two homes in the 400 block of East Monroe Street in Olney. Officers found two deceased individuals in separate homes, 52 year old John D. Jones, Junior and 73 year old Deborah J. Jones. The report says there is one person in custody and there is no risk to the public.
The Illinois State Police added it is an ongoing investigation and no additional information is available at this time.
