You continue to see posts about it all over the place–whether it’s national, regional or local. And, there are rumors in the community that just about every construction project in the area is one. But, Vandalia Mayor Doug Knebel once again clears it up—there is no talk at this time about a data center locating in Vandalia.
Speaking on our podcast “Talking about Vandalia,” Mayor Knebel points out there is nothing being talked about at this time.
And, he again is clear—if there is ever any discussion about one, the public would be informed and they would be looking for community input.
Back in January, the Vandalia Economic Development Commission met with a group that said they were interested in potentially placing a data center here. But, in the 6 months since then, there has been no further contact from the company with the city.
