Multiple topics were discussed Wednesday during the monthly Saint Elmo City Council Meeting. The first item approved by the council was the approval of Mideastern Plumbing out of Carlyle to do sewer line work for $74,200. The second item approved by the council was paying Farnsworth Group out of Effingham $1000 for an engineering assessment of the Theater. The council then set the date for their 3rd annual National Night Out for August 4th, 2026. Saint Elmo Mayor Kim Baron gave a little insight as to what National Night Out is.
And Mayor Baron talked about the importance for the community to see city police officers in a different light.
The last item approved by the council was accepting a bid of $5350 from K&C Excavating for field clearing work for the city.
