Kara Dugan recently appointed as Fayette County Clerk

The individual that was basically the Fayette County Clerk-Elect is now the full time County Clerk ahead of the November Election.

In a special meeting recently, the Fayette County Board appointed Republican Kara Dugan as the Fayette county Clerk.  Back in the March 17th Primary, Dugan defeated incumbent Jessica Barker to take the Republican nomination for Clerk.  And, being Dugan is set to run unopposed in the November General Election with no opposition filing to run against her, she would have been elected in November anyway and would have officially taken over as Clerk on December 1st.

Back at their June 9th meeting, the Fayette County Board at that time accepted the resignation of Barker as County Clerk.  Cheryl Pollard served as acting Clerk before Dugan was officially appointed.
