Heather Michelle Davis was born on Friday, February 20, 1981 in Effingham to Michael K. Hodge and Tara M. (Goodwin) Funneman. She graduated from Dieterich High School and married Michael A. Davis on August 2, 2008 on a beach in Destin, FL. She ran an in-home daycare until being diagnosed & shortly after was warmly welcomed at ALIS School as their lunch lady. Heather’s smile and personality brightened the world and she didn’t know a stranger. Throughout her cancer battle she inspired many and through her Caringbridge website advocated for others to get their cancer screenings. She could usually be found at a baseball diamond or a basketball court where she was cheering on her boys who brought her the most joy.
