(Springfield, IL) — U.S. Senator Dick Durbin is saying goodbye in Springfield ahead of his retirement. While giving his farewell address yesterday to state lawmakers at the Illinois Capitol, the Illinois Democrat gave said he will miss helping people.
The 81-year-old has continuously introduced the DREAM Act, which would provide a legal path to citizenship for people who were brought to the U.S. as children. He also warned lawmakers about a growing political divide.
