Thunderstorms development and intensity will be conditional on how long cloud cover and rainfall precede the front–if clouds clear, thunderstorms will be more capable of becoming severe. The primary threat from severe thunderstorms will be damaging winds, along with the potential for large hail. The NWS says the best potential for severe weather lings up along and southeast of I-44 in Missouri and I-70 in Illinois from 3 pm to 9 pm.
