Multiple items were discussed at Wednesday’s monthly Saint Elmo City Council meeting. The first item the Council discussed was the resignation of Loretta Cameron as City Clerk, and the appointment of Rick Mills as the new City Clerk. Saint Elmo Mayor Kim Baron discussed the reasoning for the change.
The next item the Council approved on was the general fund budget of $917,500 with an additional $50,000 for ordinance violations. The Council approved an Audit proposal from Kempers CPA out of Effingham for an amount up to $28,000 dollars. The Council then approved the purchase of a 2026 Ford Explorer from Morrow Brothers Ford out of Greenfield for the Saint Elmo Police Department for an amount up to $66,000. The last item that the Council approved on was the purchase of a new window for the City Garage from Lash Construction out of Saint Elmo for an amount of $4,981.65.
