We will see some sunshine and cooler temperatures today.
We are looking at partly sunny skies for today with a high of 68. Meanwhile–although the chance looks to be well off to our south, severe storms are possible tonight.
As for tonight, the National Weather Service in St. Louis says thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and this evening across much of the area. They add that a few of these thunderstorms could be severe, primarily across southeastern Missouri between 2 pm and 8 pm with large hail and damaging winds as the main hazards. The NWS says it is uncertain if enough instability will be available for severe thunderstorms, with greater confidence/higher probabilities to the south. The current severe storm map from the NWS would put us in the area of general thunderstorms, with what would look to be any significant chance of severe storms well off to our south, at least as of this time.
Meanwhile, after a day and night filled with severe storms all around their area, the National Weather Service in St. Louis is asking for the public’s help in locating any storm damaging. The NWS says multiple rounds of severe thunderstorms affected portions of the region Monday morning through Monday evening.
