
Debra Parkison, 75 of Brownstown, died at 2:25 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2026 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, April 24, 2026 at Liberty Christian Church, rural Brownstown with Rev. Clayton Richison officiating. Burial will follow in the Morrison Cemetery next to the Kaskaskia Church, rural Beecher City, IL. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Friday. Memorials may be made to Caring and Sharing or the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Brownstown is assisting the family with arrangements.
Debra Sue Parkison was born on Wednesday, December 6, 1950 in Vandalia, IL to Herbert H. and Bonnie B. (Rogers) Morrison. She married Paul Parkison on June 20, 1968. She was a member of Liberty Christian Church. She was retired from the Fayette County Health Department after 35 years of service. She was instrumental in the Caring and Sharing program in Brownstown for over 40 years. Debra enjoyed feeding and watching her birds from her picture window.
She is survived by: her husband of over 57 years, Paul of Brownstown; sons, Jeffrey (Christina) Parkison of Charleston and Jacob (Sarah) Parkison of Brownstown; daughter, Juli (Toby) Harms of St. Jacob; siblings, Steve (Louise) Morrison, Dave (Barb) Morrison, Dan (Joann) Morrison, Dennis Morrison, Kathy (Ken) Allen, Gary (Sandy) Morrison and Tim Morrison; 12 Grandchildren, Marshall (Meagan) Parkison, Makenzie (Damon) Parkison, Malanie (Dustin) Parkison, Alex Sylvester-Parkison, Colton Sylvester-Parkison, Pacey Harms, Piper Harms, Winston Harms, Tyler (Kinzie) Stonecipher, Carson (Kyleigh) Stonecipher, Stella Stonecipher and Hailey Stonecipher; 5 great grandchildren, Riyah Walker, Reiner Parkison, Reata Parkison, Jaelynn Sylvester-Parkison and Wesley Sylvester; many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Debra was preceded in death by: her parents, sister-in-law, Melody Morrison and nephew, Tell Allen.
