(Chicago, IL) — The Illinois Gaming Board is taking action to end illegal online casinos. The IGB and the Illinois Attorney General’s office have issued more than 60 cease-and-desist letters to entities accused of operating illegal online casino and online sweepstakes gaming platforms in Illinois. The letters demand the entities immediately block Illinois residents from accessing their sites or discontinue offering prizes to in-state users. Operators who fail to comply may be subject to civil or criminal penalties.
