(Chicago, IL) — Illinois’ population is up for a third year in a row. New estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau show between July 1st, 2024, and July 1st, 2025, Illinois added more than 16-thousand residents. That is an increase of over 100-thousand residents since 2022. Officials say Illinois experienced population growth in the last year due in part to natural population gains and slowing domestic outmigration.
