Gov. J.B. Pritzker says the wealthiest families in Illinois would not be affected by a tax on millionaires. Activists and union leaders held a virtual “Tax the Rich” press briefing on Thursday. Chicago Teachers Union and Illinois Federation of Teachers President Stacy Davis Gates said it is no longer good enough for Democrats to offer a tweet or a press conference.
Billionaire Gov. J.B. Pritzker was asked in Chicago on Friday how a millionaire’s tax might affect wealthy families.
Gates said advocates would deliver a letter to Pritzker next month, telling him to pay his fair share.
