(Joliet, IL) — Governor Pritzker will be signing the Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act into law today. The measure is designed to protect consumers from energy price spikes. It also aims to modernize the state’s energy infrastructure to improve reliability and accommodate growing energy demands. Proponents say the bill would eventually lower electric bills for Illinois consumers, although opponents of the measure believe it will increase bills. The signing will take place at Joliet Junior College.
