A blood drive honoring Colin Ledbetter and First Responders injured in the line of duty will be held tomorrow.
The American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held on Tuesday, January 6th from 11 am to 5 pm at the Vandalia Moose Lodge at 328 South 3rd Street in Vandalia. The blood drive is sponsored by the Ledbetter family and the Vandalia Rotary Club. And, it is being held in honor of Colin Ledbetter and First Responders injured in the Line of Duty.
In January of 2022–while serving as a St. Louis Police Officer–Officer Colin Ledbetter and his partner were shot during a pursuit. Colin had three gunshot wounds, the worst to his femoral artery which caused massive blood loss and for his heart to stop. It took a large team of EMS, doctors, and dozens of blood products to save his life. Colin was able to survive because of the blood donated at blood drives and other such events. So, they ask that you donate on Tuesday, January 6th from 11 am to 5 pm at the Vandalia Moose Lodge in honor of Colin and all Police Officers, Firefighters, and First Responders injured in the line of duty.
