As he takes aim at state laws regulating artificial intelligence, President Donald Trump says Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker is unreasonable.
The president signed an executive order Thursday to provide a central source of approval for AI projects instead of sending them to individual states.
Trump said it would be impossible for AI investors to get 50 different approvals from 50 different states.
The order states that federal policy must sustain and enhance the nation’s global AI dominance through a “minimally burdensome” framework.
It also provides for an AI Litigation Task Force to challenge state laws inconsistent with federal policy.
