Wreaths Across America will be this Saturday at now 2 cemeteries in Fayette County.
The project places a wreath on the headstones of all military veterans. LaTisha Paslay leads the local effort. She says they are looking for volunteers for this weekend to help lay the wreaths. And, she says that monetary donations are also needed to help keep growing the project.
If you would like to add a cemetery in future years, you can contact LaTisha at 618-780-1056 as she says she would eventually like to add every cemetery in Fayette County. As for anyone looking to volunteer, they will be at Fairlawn Cemetery at 9 am on Saturday morning–you are asked to arrive just a few minutes before that and meet at the 6th street entrance. And, they will then be move to Griffith Cemetery in Brownstown at 11 am on Saturday morning.
