Protests Planned Outside Sonya Massey Murder Trial In Peoria

(Peoria, IL) — The former Sangamon County deputy charged in the death of Sonya Massey goes on trial next week in Peoria. Sean Grayson is charged with murder and official misconduct in the July 2024 shooting at Massey’s home. The defense for Grayson claims he shot the woman, who called 911 to report a suspicious person, in self defense. Protests are planned for outside the Peoria courtroom on Monday morning, the first scheduled day of Grayson’s trial.
