The Fayette County Board has approved a variance for a new solar project in Fayette County.
At the Special Use Committee meeting before the full County Board meeting, it was recommended to approve the use of a 30 foot setback for the solar project from the right of way, instead of potentially up to 50 feet. The matter was then approved by the Fayette County Board with board members Mike Black and Scott Workman voting No. Both said their no votes were because the Township Road Commissioner said they would still prefer to have the 50 foot setback.
As for the Solar Project, it will be located in the Ramsey/Carson Township areas in the areas of County Road 1200, 3000 and 3050. Steven Schneider of NorthStar Clean Energy was on hand for the meeting. He is the Director of Business Development for the company and in charge of development of the Hercules Solar Project. He says they are excited to get going and being part of Fayette County.
And, Schneider gives a timeline on the solar project getting started and completed.
Meanwhile, we will have more on Tuesday’s Fayette County Board meeting coming up tomorrow.
