An issue that got a lot of discussion a few months ago has been finalized for the next 17 months. And, residents will again get another choice on the matter.
At Monday’s Vandalia City Council meeting, Mayor Doug Knebel announced that he has signed the new Aggregate Agreement with Homefield.
The matter of the electric aggregate got a lot of attention at Vandalia City Council meetings back in June. First off, the matter let’s residents have a choice between going with the aggregate, Homefield, or “opting out” and going with Ameren’s rates.
The review would be that Homefield works to get as low as a rate as they can and it is over a long haul period of time–this new agreement is for 17 months and they have only changed rates 8 times in the past 12 years. Ameren will have more frequent rate changes during the course of the year and have had 30 rate changes over these past 12 years. Just a reminder, the letter you receive is to “Opt Out” of Homefield. So, if you want to go with Ameren you need to Opt Out.

This is another ridiculous way for the county to get kick backs by draining us of our hard earned money! I was paying $191 a month for electric through Ameren. I missed the opt out letter and was involuntarily placed with homefield for one month and my bill is $700!!!! Thankfully, Ameren allowed me to switch back. DOWN WITH HOMEFIELD AND THE THOSE ON BOARD WITH MAKING US ALL GO BROKE!
