The dangerous heat and humidity continues for another day today.
We do have a chance of a shower or storm this morning, but we’ll otherwise see sunny skies for today with a high of 92. Heat index values will be as high as 103 for today. Then, mostly clear skies tonight with a low of 74.
Meanwhile, we will get to 90 for a high on Wednesday but relief is on the way. But, that relief on Wednesday may involve severe storms. In their latest Weather Briefing, the National Weather Service in St. Louis says showers and thunderstorms will develop along a cold front on Wednesday. While most will remain below severe limits, a few thunderstorms will have a potential for damaging winds up to 60 mph. Heavy rain is also expected with these thunderstorms, which may lead to localized flooding if thunderstorms slow down or occur over the same location.
