Work is underway on the Fayette County Telecommunications Center in downtown Vandalia.
On our podcast, “Talking about Vandalia,” Vandalia Police Chief and E 911 Committee Chairman Jeff Ray talks about the benefits of having all the dispatch for the county housed in one building. Chief Ray says they are hopeful this will get them ahead of the game with more consolidation likely coming in the future.
Chief Rays says the state has been pushing for this consolidation for a while.
The Telecommunications Center will be housed in the former Evans Public Library building in downtown Vandalia. The building is undergoing renovations at this time.
