The project on Randolph Street in Vandalia that was originally set to begin last month and then was said to potentially be delayed until July is now tentatively set to begin on June 16th.
During Monday’s Vandalia City Council meeting, City Administrator LaTisha Paslay talked about a new tentative timeline for the project and a little more on the reason behind the delay.
The project location will be on Randolph Street from Sunset Drive to the driveway at Capitol Pointe Apartments. The project will be split into 2 stages—one will be from Sunset Drive to Dynamic Dental and the second will be from Dynamic Dental to Capitol Pointe Apartments. Stage one will be from Sunset to Dynamic Dental. One lot at Dynamic Dental will be open at all times. And, the City of Vandalia has completing the laying of rock and brush removal to complete alleys behind some homes who would otherwise have no access to their homes during the project. The project was originally expected to take about 30 days.
