We are looking at bitterly cold temperatures and measurable snowfall for this week.
For today we are looking at snow flurries with a high of 20. Then, flurries for tonight with a low of 8. Tuesday would be snow with a high of 15 and the snow on Tuesday night with a low of 9 and new snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. That doesn’t sound like a lot of snow, but the daily weather briefing from the National Weather Service in St. Louis says he could receive anywhere from 2 inches to 6 inches of snow total from today through Wednesday morning. They show us with a 97% chance of 1 inch of snow, 89% chance of 2 inches of snow, 56% chance of 4 inches of snow and a 28% chance of 6 inches of snow. That would seem to indicate they are expecting measurable snow for today, tonight and Tuesday during the day—but that’s not indicated in the forecast at this time.
As for other weather outlets, accuweather.com would show us with the potential for up to 1 inch of snow total and a total adding up to about 3.5 inches of Tuesday. Weather Underground doesn’t show much snow for our area at all, probably just adding up to just 1/2 inch of so.
