Closing arguments are scheduled to resume Monday morning at the public corruption trial of former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan.
“Mike is not corrupt.” That’s what Madigan defense attorney Dan Collins told the jury Friday afternoon.
“The government’s evidence fails,” Collins added.
Bradley University professor Taraleigh Davis said the jury has a lot to consider.
Davis said it would be a difficult task for anyone.
Codefendant Michael McClain’s team is slated to follow Collins’ arguments.
Closing statements by prosecutors took nearly twelve hours between Wednesday afternoon and late Friday morning.
