Statement from Vandalia Rick Gottman—
Due to the inclement weather, Vandalia City Hall will be closed on Monday, January 6, 2025. The City Council meeting scheduled at 6:30pm and the Railroad, Industrial Development and Tourism committee meeting scheduled at 5pm are also cancelled. Anyone who wishes to drop off a water payment can do so in the drop box.
If you must be out, please use extreme caution. I ask that you be mindful of our Public Works Department and IDOT who have been out clearing roads since last night and will continue through the night and tomorrow. If you see them out, please keep your distance to allow them to work safely and to get home to their families.
We are also thinking of all first responders (police, fire, EMS, tow companies) as they are out in this weather patrolling and responding to accidents. Please drive safely and we will ensure everyone arrives to their destination safely.
