(Chicago, IL) — Michael Madigan’s racketeering trial is set to resume next week following a break for the holidays. Lawyers in the case met with the judge yesterday for a jury instruction conference. The implications of a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision on the federal bribery statute was discussed, including how jurors should define the word “corruptly.” The judge believes the high court’s decision has limited bearing on the case.
