
Two Missouri men have been charged with two Felony counts each for Unlawful Transportation of Unstamped Cigarettes in Fayette County Court.
40 year old Ahmed Z. Kanan and 50 year old Ibrahim T. Barta were both charged on Tuesday in Fayette County Court. Information on the first charge alleges the individuals knowingly transported into the state original packages of cigarettes containing more than 40,000 cigarettes not property tax stamped. The charge states that would be an attempt to evade the tax imposed by the Cigarette Tax Act. All the charges are Class 3 Felonies.
In Fayette County Court, conditions for release were discussed for both individuals, including the surrendering of their passports. They will both make their next appearance with counsel on December 3rd at 9 am. And, it also states an Arabic interpreter will be needed for both individuals.
