A City of Vandalia Alderman says he’s gotten complaints of Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies “Stalking” Bars.
During Monday’s Vandalia City Council meeting, Alderman Ken Hubler spoke during the meeting about the complaints and said he wished something could be said to the Sheriff.
Meanwhile, Fayette County Sheriff Ronnie Stevens responded to the comments. As for the “marking” of tires, Sheriff Stevens says he believes that to be false. Sheriff Stevens says he knows these establishments have cameras outside and, if the “marking of tires” were true he would encourage them to bring that video footage to his attention. Sheriff Stevens also added that a few of the traffic stops that have occurred were due to speeding, no headlights or tail lights and such infractions. Sheriff Stevens also added that he fielded two calls last week alone complaining about drunk driving and that the callers wanted it to stop. And, the Sheriff said it was just a few months ago people were upset over a Vandalia accident where the driver did not receive a DUI. Sheriff Stevens says the slogans such as “don’t drink and drive” and “drink responsibly” are everywhere. And, the Sheriff says we as the public need to take that to heart.
