We have a severe weather threat tonight and again on Wednesday.
As for tonight, the National Weather Service in St. Louis says despite the morning thunderstorms, there is a 30% chance for another round of severe thunderstorms this afternoon. Coverage of these storms will be low, unlike this morning, and many people will not see a thunderstorm today. The best location for strong to severe thunderstorms will be across southeast Missouri and southern Illinois where severe thunderstorms will be capable of producing large hail, wind damage, and a tornado.
As for Wednesday, the NWS says there is a greater risk for severe thunderstorms on Wednesday afternoon and evening across much of the forecast area, particularly along and south of the I-70 corridor in Missouri and Illinois. Severe thunderstorms will be intense and capable of large amounts of damage from strong tornadoes, wind damage, and large hail.
